Studio Rules & Policies

Our guidelines ensure we deliver the highest quality custom cakes while providing excellent customer service. Please familiarize yourself with our studio rules before placing an order.

General Studio Rules

Ordering Timeline

We require advance notice for all cake orders to ensure we can create the perfect cake for your event. Minimum notice periods:

  • Standard cakes: 7 days
  • Custom themed cakes: 14 days
  • Wedding cakes: 28 days (4-6 months recommended)

Payment Policy

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your order and date. The remaining balance is due one week before the event date. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer
  • Credit/debit card
  • PayPal

Cancellation & Changes

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations more than 14 days before the event: Deposit is non-refundable, but may be transferred to a future order within 3 months.
  • Cancellations less than 14 days before the event: No refund available.
  • Design changes must be requested at least 7 days before the event. Additional fees may apply for significant changes.

Delivery & Collection

We offer delivery throughout Auckland for an additional fee based on location. Collection from our Henderson studio is also available during designated collection times.

  • For wedding and tiered cakes, we strongly recommend our professional delivery service.
  • Collection times: Tuesday-Friday (10am-4pm), Saturday (9am-12pm)
  • We are not responsible for damage that occurs after the cake leaves our premises if collected by the customer.

Allergies & Dietary Requirements

We can accommodate many dietary requirements, but please note:

  • Our kitchen is not allergen-free. While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee that our products are free from traces of nuts, gluten, dairy, or other allergens.
  • Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of ordering.
  • Additional charges may apply for specialty ingredients required for dietary modifications.

Cake Storage & Handling

Storage Instructions

  • Our cakes are best enjoyed at room temperature.
  • If not consuming immediately, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for up to 24 hours.
  • For longer storage, refrigerate the cake in an airtight container.
  • Allow refrigerated cake to come to room temperature (approximately 1-2 hours) before serving for the best flavor and texture.
  • Most cakes can be frozen for up to one month. Wrap well in plastic wrap followed by aluminum foil.

Handling Tips

  • Always transport cakes on a flat, level surface.
  • For tiered cakes, avoid tilting or jarring during transport.
  • Keep cakes away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Fondant-covered cakes should not be refrigerated as condensation can damage the finish.
  • Handle cake toppers and decorations with care as they may be delicate.

Buttercream Cakes

Room temperature: 1-2 days
Refrigerated: 3-4 days

Fondant Cakes

Room temperature: 3-4 days
Do not refrigerate

Cream Cheese Frosting

Room temperature: Same day only
Refrigerated: 2-3 days

Ganache Cakes

Room temperature: 2-3 days
Refrigerated: 5-7 days
